PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS:
TEXAS WORKS: Provides food benefits, temporary assistance to needy families and Medicaid
for women and children.
MEDICAID ELIGIBILITY: Provides Medicaid to people in nursing homes and to the aged and
disabled for Kendall and surrounding counties.
TRANSPORTATION: Call 877-633-8747, call at least two work days or more before you need a
ride. Long distance requires at least five days prior.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR CLIENT: Clients either pick up application in office or are mailed one on
request. Applications are returned to office and then appointment is set up to be
interviewed by a caseworker.
