SVFD has a total of 7 fire apparatus and also maintains and operates the Kendall County FD Breathing Apparatus Air truck. We assist in the area with all structure and commercial building fires in the county.

We could not do what we do without support from the community and Kendall County for financial aid and volunteers. It takes time, dedication and money to maintain a safe and operational fire department.

Your Sisterdale VFD currently consists of 12 volunteer firefighters, as well as others who volunteer in non-firefighting roles, and new members are always welcome. You do not need prior experience, you do not have to be available at all hours, and you do not have to fulfill every role. We all have jobs, families, and other duties that consume our time and energy, but everyone adds value however they can, and we work together as a team. All you need is a desire to help others, a good attitude, and the willingness to take on a challenge. We will work with you to find a role that suits your interests and abilities, and to provide the training and equipment you need. Our roster includes personnel certified in a broad array of capabilities including emergency medicine, rescue (water, vehicle, and technical rescue), structural firefighting, and wildland firefighting.
