Mission and Vision
"Restoring Lives, Renewing Hope, Rebuilding Futures"
MISSION:
Christian Journey Courses’ mission is to offer targeted programs to jail inmates, probationers, and people in need of breaking dysfunctional life patterns in order to find their true identity and a new beginning.
VISION:
We envision a society where individuals who have faced adversity, such as jail inmates, probationers, and those trapped in dysfunctional life patterns, are empowered to discover their authentic selves. Through our programs, we aspire to foster personal growth, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose, leading to a community where everyone has the opportunity for a fresh start and a fulfilling life.
ABOUT US:
Our focus is life-skills and behavioral transformation programs to those incarcerated in the Kendall County Jail, to Kendall County persons on probation, and others in the Kendall Community who might benefit from better life skills and behavior transformation. Formerly Christian Job Corps of Kendall County, we began delivering courses to inmates in January 2022. We are truly seeing lives changed before our very eyes. After merging with Bandera County in January 2023, we added Bandera County Jail inmates to our training agenda. In 2022 we also shared our curriculum and partnered with Mercy Gate Ministries in Kerrville to offer the same programs to Kerr County Women Inmates.
Description
PREPPED FOR LIFE, COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM:
CJC helps unlock the future for probationers and others by offering them a way to break dysfunctional life patterns in order to find their true identify and a new beginning. The goal is to help them become healthier, happier, more productive people by dissolving negative generational programming and self-imposed obstacles and limitations that we often place on ourselves. Often, the answer to one’s future is in their past. If someone is suffering from past or present hurts, our programs can help the healing process.
A seasoned cadre of volunteers guide clients through our course and provides them with encouragement, guidance, and prayer throughout their journey. The application process begins online and also includes an interview and self-assessments prior to enrolling. We can connect you to agencies who may help with housing, employment, child care, food, and education.
INMATE PROGRAM:
CJC’s Inmates – Prepped for Life Inmate Program equips both men and women inmates by offering them a way to break dysfunctional life patterns in order to find their true identify and a new beginning. We help them navigate their path toward better life-choices and a new start. We work with our students strengths and encourage them towards God’s intended path. The goal is to help them become healthier, happier, more productive people by dissolving self-imposed obstacles and limitations that we often place on ourselves. Often, the answer to one’s future is in their past. If someone is suffering from past or present hurts, our programs can help the healing process. Currently, the Inmates – Prepped for Life program is offered inside the Kendall County and Bandera County Jails.
We can connect released inmates to agencies who may help with housing, employment, child care, food, and education. Call (830) 331-9916 Ext. 0
