Head Start is a national program that promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children by providing educational, health, nutritional, social and other services to enrolled children and families.

Head Start is a national program that promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children by providing educational, health, nutritional, social and other services to enrolled children and families.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Full day pre-school for children ages 4 to 5. Eligibility is determined based on financial need, disability, foster youth and/or homelessness.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Families in one of these categories are eligible:
• Family is receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
• Family’s gross income falls below the federal poverty guidelines
• A family member living with and supported by you is receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
• Child is in foster care
• Family is homeless
Other requirements:
• Child must be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1
• Family must live in Kendall County
LOCATION: Comfort Elementary School
HOURS: 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday

COST TO CLIENT: No cost to clients.
