Established in 1993 to help communities and the people who make them thrive meet local needs by protecting our Water and Land resources, encouraging Environmental Sustainability, promoting Agriculture, empowering our Youth, and strengthening our Seniors as we also enhance the quality of life for all citizens in our area.

How Alamo RC&D accomplishes its mission:
1. Protecting our Environment – Environmental Education; Watershed Protection Program; Educational Workshops
2. Developing our Communities – Growing Rural Youth Garden Program (ages 3-11); Youth 4 Earth FIRST program (ages 12-20); Senior Assistance Program; Farm to Fork Initiative; Community Development Assistance; Disaster Relief Assistance

Alamo RC&D Area Inc. helps through such activities as:
Senior Assistance Programs; Youth Gardening Programs; Soil and Water Conservation; Environmental Concerns & Education; Farm and Ranch Concerns; Sustainable Agriculture Programs; Community Development Assistance

With the help of local concerned citizens, like yourself, Alamo RC&D is able to help local communities by assisting nonprofit organizations, county governments, fire departments, civic groups, public libraries, youth organizations, senior citizens groups and many others. By providing this assistance , Alamo RC&D can help you make your home town and neighborhood great places to live, work, play and prosper.

Alamo RC&D protects our natural resources as we teach the importance of every drop of water, every breath of air, each parcel of land and the welfare of each individual, because ALL are so important in our lives.
